Our weekly Youth Theatre sessions are a great way to make new friends, develop your knowledge and interest in the performing arts, and learn new creative and life skills.

Are you ready to do something brilliant?

Youth Theatre is where 11–18s come to break rules, make some noise, and tell stories that matter. No experience needed, just bring your energy and get ready to make a scene!

All Youth Theatre members also receive a number of free tickets to see shows at the SJT.

When and where:

All sessions are held at the SJT and Westborough Methodist Church during school term time.

  • Youth Theatre 1: School years 7/8 | Tuesdays 5 - 6.30pm

  • Youth Theatre 2: School years 9/10 | Tuesdays 7 - 8.45pm

  • Youth Theatre 3: School years 11/12/13 | Thursdays 6.45 - 8.45pm

Information:

  • Standard Fee: £180 a year / £60 a term

  • Discount Fee: £120 a year / £40 a term

  • Payment can be made annually or in three termly instalments

  • Reduced fee available for people experiencing financial difficulties

  • 20 places in each group

  • Youth Theatre sessions are led by our Youth Theatre Director Alice Kynman

Term dates:

  • Autumn term: The week of 8 September to the week of 15 December with a week off for half-term week of 27 October

  • Spring term: The week of 5 January to the week of 23 March with a week off for half term week of 23 March

  • Summer term: The week of 13 April to the week of 6 July with a week off for half term week of 25 May

How to join:

Places are given for one year from September - participants will then have to reapply each year to hold onto their place. If you miss the Autumn term start point, you can join at the beginning of the Spring or Summer terms, and pay for the remaining time in the year.

Places are limited in each group, we do that to ensure that everyone gets the best experience. If we are oversubscribed, participants are selected by application, and unsuccessful applicants are placed on a waiting list. When a place becomes available we will email all of the people on the waiting list and offer places on a first come first served basis.

Selection is based on a successful application. The application has two simple questions.
