We pride ourselves on being a safe space for writers, actors and directors – a place where talent is championed and encouraged. By donating to our New Work Fund today, you’ll help us to fire imaginations and pioneer change that will have a remarkable impact on tomorrow.
Alongside our talent development which ranges from stage management to designers, from writers and directors, we are committed to producing brand new pieces of work on our stages, including our world premieres of Alan Ayckbourn’s plays and our flagship Christmas shows set in Scarborough. You’ll be investing directly into supporting up and coming new talent and shows, securing the future of bold and surprising theatre.

Read over 300 script submissions
Commissioned 2 brand new plays by female Northern writers
Showcased new talent on our stages
Previous shows born in Scarborough have included, The Woman in Black and Tim Firth’s Neville’s Island, which to this day are still running all over the world. Whilst our commission of Build a Rocket won the Holden Street Theatres' Edinburgh Fringe Award, the Sunday Mail Best Female Solo Show and the Adelaide Fringe Best Theatre Award.
