Welcome to Pendon (18 - 20 September)

Grab your diaries for our next fundraising weekend, featuring a rehearsed reading of Alan Ayckbourn's 2023 play Welcome to the Family - the first time it's been heard here in Scarborough! - and an evening of exclusive Backstage Secrets.

Alongside Alan Ayckbourn's new play The Trial of Romeo Oscar, we're hosting a series of fundraising events for the SJT.

The fundraising weekend, Welcome to Pendon - a reference to the fictional town mentioned in many of Alan's plays - will open on Friday 18 September with Backstage Secrets, an evening of lively chat with creatives, stage managers and technicians who've worked at the SJT over the years. They'll be guiding us entertainingly through the nitty gritty of putting on a show, from page to stage.

On Sunday 20 September, there’ll be a rehearsed reading of Alan Ayckbourn’s Welcome to the Family, one of his few plays which didn’t start life at the SJT – it was premiered at the Old Laundry Theatre in 2023.

• Tickets to the reading of Welcome to the Family on Sunday 20 September 

• A post-show gala event in Eat Me Café at the SJT following the reading of Welcome to the Family, attended by the cast. This includes a buffet and glass of prosecco.

• A souvenir programme

• Lunch with actors from The Trial of Romeo Oscar company

• Exclusive behind the scenes sessions with staff from the SJT

Package B (£150 per person)

• Tickets to Backstage Secrets on Friday 18 September

• Tickets to Alan Ayckbourn's latest play The Trial of Romeo Oscar on Saturday 19 September (matinee or evening) 

• Tickets to the reading of Welcome to the Family on Sunday 20 September 

• A post-show gala event in Eat Me Café at the SJT following the reading of Welcome to the Family, attended by cast. This includes a buffet and glass of prosecco.
