We're delighted to be part of this year's inaugural Scarborough Fringe! Part of Scarborough Fair, it's all about showcasing incredible cultural experiences in different venues across the town between Fri 21 and Sun 30 June.

Here at the SJT, you'll be able to see:

Eliza Carthy (21 June) Twice nominated for the Mercury Prize, and winner of innumerable other accolades over her thirty-year career, Eliza has performed and recorded around the world with a diverse array of artists including, Paul Weller, Rufus & Martha Wainwright, Patrick Wolf, and Jarvis Cocker. Describing herself simply as a modern English musician, she is one of the most impressive, engaging, and important performers of her generation.

The Elton John Tribute Show (22 June) With over 300 million records sold, Sir Elton John is the most successful singer-songwriter of his generation - a flamboyant mega-star with a never-ending back catalogue of incredible songs to keep you Crocodile Rockin' all night! From Tiny Dancer to Your Song, The Elton John Show brings “Young Elton” back to the stage at his energetic best.

Monologue Slam (25 June) An exciting new project showcasing talented emerging actors in Scarborough! You'll see 25 monologues by some of the best emerging actors on the North Yorkshire coast - come and support the next generation of acting talent, or, if you're aged 16+, enter your own monologue to perform!

Ukraine: The Latest (29 June) With over 500 episodes on the war that continues to reshape the modern world, the team from The Telegraph produce the leading English-language reporting of the war in Ukraine. Join them for a live recording of the podcast to discuss lessons learned from the most destructive European war in modern times. A panel discussion - including David Knowles, Dom Nicholls, Francis Dearnley and Roland Oliphant - will be followed by a Q&A with the audience.
