Calling all Creative Practitioners

Are you a creative practitioner currently working with children and/or young people across the coastal communities in North Yorkshire? We want to meet you!

COAST is a group of arts and cultural organisations along the North Yorkshire coast that work to support children and young people to fulfil their creative potential and access high-quality cultural experiences where they live, where they go to school, and where they spend their free time. We are also therefore, keen to support  Creative Practitioners working alongside children and young people.

We are about to embark on a Children and Young People’s Creative Consultation process throughout the summer (hopefully you’ll have seen our call out for Associate Practitioners to work with us on this project).

As part of the consultation and with a view to developing and supporting a network of colleagues working to support children and young people’s creative and cultural lives, we would like to invite Creative Practitioners including Creative Teachers, working in COAST communities to join us at a Creative Practitioners Event.

The event will include opportunities for:

• Dialogue between creative practitioners working in our coastal communities,

• Consideration of the barriers faced by children and young people and the creative practitioners who aim to work alongside them, identifying needs and opportunities,

• Learning about and informing COAST’s creative consultation,

• Expressions of interest in being part of the consultation process e.g. as a Creative Practitioner facilitating activity,

• Eating – we’ll make sure we’ve some snacks to sustain us!
