Backstage School: Ages 16-25

Our holiday projects and workshops for children and young people focus on the skills you need to work offstage in a theatre - that's prop making, set design, theatrical make-up, sound and light, and technical skills.

All sessions for ages 16-25 will be held 4-6pm.
All sessions will be held at the SJT here in Scarborough
£10 per workshop (£7.50 concession available for people experiencing financial difficulty)
Places are limited - early booking is advised
All materials will be provided
Workshops are based around a wide range of on- and off-stage skills - do one or do them all!

May Half-Term

Tue 28 May - Stage Combat: We punch people in the face at the SJT all the time, but don't worry, no-one gets hurt! If you want to learn some of the principles and skills to safely perform unarmed stage combat, then this workshop is for you.
Thu 30 May - Puppet Making: We'll start simple with a sock and some buttons...then we'll introduce you to a range of performance, design and construction techniques, plus the chance to try out some of the incredible puppets we have here at the SJT.

Re-sales & exchanges: We must have the ticket at the Box Office in order to perform a re-sale or exchange. We regret we cannot refund money but four or more days prior to the performance we will exchange it for an alternative performance, within three days of the performance we will attempt to re-sell the ticket on your behalf. Both services are subject to a charge of £1.50 per ticket. Latecomers: Anyone arriving once the performance has begun will not be admitted until a suitable break which, on occasion, may be the interval. Content: Where possible we do indicate if strong language and/or adult content is used. Customers are advised to contact the Box Office with any concerns before booking tickets. Please note: the re-sale of tickets is prohibited.
