The SJT joins PiPA!
We're thrilled to announce we're Charter Partners with PiPA - Parents and Carers in Performing Arts.
We're passionate about making the SJT a space that's truly inclusive, and one that embraces all talents, backgrounds and circumstances.
PiPA was founded in 2015 by actor Cassie Raine and director Anna Ehnold-Danailov to address the significant challenges faced by parents and carers in the performing arts industry. Since then, PiPA has gained widespread support from arts leaders who've quickly integrated their innovative ideas into new working structures and approaches.
This powerful initiative has grown rapidly, responding to a clear and urgent need for representation and change. PiPA has since expanded its work beyond theatre, collaborating with dance, opera, and music organisations throughout the UK.
We're hugely excited to be exploring ways of working together and supporting carers and parents. This partnership really strengthens the message that family-friendly working practices are vital for the future of the Arts.
Our Executive Director and Joint Chief Executive Caroline Routh says:
“We’ve always been committed to making our organisation as family friendly and accessible as possible and working with PiPA will give us a fantastic chance to develop what we already have in place, introduce new initiatives and approaches, and be supported in that journey.”
We’re excited to make a meaningful difference for the parents and carers we already work with, and for those we're yet to meet.
