About

Join us for a one-off night of sparkling new stories that imagine a better world through a queer lens.

8 artists from York and Scarborough have written new plays that explore how our collective experiences can propel climate justice. Performed by these writers trying out their new work for the first time, this event is produced by Roots, Yorkshire’s award-winning LGBTQIA theatre company.

Expect a wide range of voices and styles, guaranteed to keep you entertained!

About the writers and performers

Bee Scott (She/They)

Bee is an award-winning theatre maker and voice artist specialising in queer science fiction.

Misha Mond (They/He)

Kate Thomson Rahmanian (She/They)

E. Rugg (They/Them)

Ed Rugg is probably a woman, lives in Leeds, has a Substack, and fears the Anthropocene.

Teän (She/Her)

Teän is a proudly lesbian theatre student, hula hooper, and aspiring playwright based in York, but her roots lie in the beautiful landscape of Cornwall where she began her climate activism and community organising as a young person.

Suzanne Elvidge (She/Her)

Suzanne is a queer writer whose work crosses science and the arts, covering fact, fiction and the blurry spaces in between.

Joanna Wormald (They/Them)

Joanna is a non-binary writer and artist from Scarborough.

Tiana Aitken (She/Her)

Tiana is a poet and aspiring theatre maker from York influenced by nature and folklore, aiming to explore the link between the personal and the natural through playful visual performance and written imagery.
