About

Fifty years on, at each and every game, Leeds United fans still sing the same refrain: ‘We Are The Champions, Champions Of Europe’.

Paris '75 revisits a final dogged by controversy, marred by violence and mired in speculation about corruption; a match which defined a club, its supporters, a city, and brought a crashing end to an era in football never to be seen again.

Featuring 45 minutes of exclusive, rare and unseen cine footage taken by fans and players together with supporters’ own photography, the documentary speaks to a gang of Super Fans, Leeds United legends Paul Reaney and Allan Clarke, as well as key witnesses on the night, taking a journey through football in the '70s and inside the dressing room of an extraordinary season.

Highlights include:

• The story of a gang of Super Leeds Fans, who followed Leeds United across Europe in an age when ‘going abroad’ meant Benidorm for the lucky few;

• The female football fan pioneers who ignored abuse and more to follow their team;

• An insight into life on the terraces in the 70s;

• The departure of the man who built Leeds United, Don Revie, and how Brian Clough came close to wrecking the club’s dream of European glory;

• First hand accounts from the players who wore the shirt;

• The exclusive story of the mysterious Man In Barcelona’ who approached Leeds striker Allan Clarke after the European Cup semi-final;

• The 18 year novice photographer who was behind the goal on a night of rioting.

On their return to the Premier League this season, Paris '75 is a reminder of the making of Leeds United. It is the story of one of football’s most controversial teams, football’s most controversial European Cup final, and the story of those who were there, those who played, and those who still believe Leeds United were Champions of Europe Paris '75.
