About

Flamenco Orígenes celebrates the multitude of art forms that have fed into the evolution of flamenco, evolving from the melting pot of cultures and people living and thriving in Andalusia, Southern Spain, for millennia.

We can trace flamenco’s roots to the four corners of the earth, from ancient trade routes to modern shipping lanes – from the Guajiras which has Cuban roots and the Arabic Zambra, to the flamenco Milonga from Argentina: art, like the artist, is in a constant state of change, and flamenco has absorbed sounds and movements wherever it goes.

Lourdes Fernández and her Flamenco Company welcome you to join them on this epic adventure spanning multiple continents and hundreds of years, discovering more about the beautifully rich art we've come to know as flamenco.

“By the time the show ends with a bravura presentation of modern day flamenco, it is not just the dancers and musicians who are clapping and stamping their feet with enthusiasm. The audience has caught the energy as well, leaping to their feet with applause and cries of “Olé!” Dominica Plummer, The Spy in the Stalls
