Activities for young people
There's always something for young people to get involved in at SJT. During term time we run weekly youth theatre sessions for all different age ranges, as well as a choir. When it comes to the holidays, there’s loads more to keep the younger ones entertained and unleash their creativity. SJT integrates Arts Awards into our Youth Theatre sessions (similar to the Duke of Edinburgh Awards) which are accredited by universities and colleges. We're also a Children's University Learning Destination which celebrates extra-curricular activities in and outside of school. Check out what's on offer below.
Our Youth Theatre, Rounders, has been running for more than 40 years. Our weekly sessions are designed for specific age ranges and they’re a chance for children and young people to express themselves creatively and reach high. Then higher still. They’ll have the time of their lives and learn everything from acting techniques and improvisation to creating their very own plays and performing live on stage.
Coming soon: Teeny Weeny Rounders
Bring along your mini-me for some fun and play. Let those little imaginations run wild with storytelling, singing, movement, crafts and sensory activities for little ones. There are two separate classes – one for babies up to 12 months and one for little ones aged 1-3 years.
Fuse youth theatre widens participation for young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and celebrates their achievements. Any young person is welcome and it’s an inclusive space to play, experiment and work together to create unique, energetic and epic theatre. At Fuse, they can be anything they dream.
